Iran urges Turkey to help resolving regional crisis

Iran has called on Turkey to contribute for resolving crisis in the region.
We hope that the Turkish government will take measures regarding its neighboring countries to pave the way for resolving crisis in the region, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber-Ansari said at a press conference in Tehran, state TV IRINN reported live.
Responding to a question regarding the ties between Turkey and Israel, the spokesperson said that Turkey's policy towards Israel has witnessed ups and downs over the past several years.
Jaber-Ansari reminded about the 2010 incident between Turkey and Israel, when Israeli special forces killed several crew members of the Turkish ship. The incident eventually led to suspension of ties between the two countries. Jaber-Ansari said however t hat both sides continued to have ties over the past several decades.
Hossein Jaber-Ansari said that from Iran's point of view the important issue is that the Islamic governments should adopt policies which protect their own interests and also the interests of all Islamic nations as well as Palestinians.
