About 100,000 people have been killed in road accidents in Iran in the past five years.
The local news agency Mehr has said that the number of road accident fatalities has decreased since 2010.
According to statistics, 23,249 people were killed in road accidents throughout the country in 2010.
This figure was 20,068 in 2011, 19,089 in 2012, 17,994 in 2013, and 16,872 in 2014.
In 2005, some 27,746 were killed in the road accidents in Iran, which was a record high for the country, according to Mehr.
