An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale on Sunday jolted the town of Mormuri in Iran's western Ilam province bordering Khuzestan and Lorestan, Irna reported.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of University of Tehran, the quake was registered at 22:06 local time (18:36 GMT).
The epicenter of the quake was registered at 22.49 in longitude and 47.91 in latitude.
There was no report of likely casualties or damages.
