Turkish army began to move toward the borders with Syria from this night. The country concentrated troops and equipment, including anti-aircraft systems in areas close to the border, Anadolu agency reported.
Earlier after several media outlets reported that armed units of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) control territory in the north of Syria, Turkish troops have gone on a heightened state of alert on the border with Syria, additional personnel and equipment on the border was increased. In parallel, according to the General Staff, Turkish Armed Forces held military exercises on border with Syria in provinces of Mardin and Sanli Urfa.
