A magnificent flower festival has been arranged in one of the Azerbaijani capital`s central parks to mark the 88th anniversary of the world-renowned politician, national leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijani President's official website reported.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva joined the festival arranged at the park in front of the Heydar Aliyev Palace.
The President was told that hundreds of Baku residents had been visiting the park since early hours of Tuesday to enjoy the show, which features millions of flowers brought from about 50 countries of the world.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva and her family members was presented bunches of white lilies. She was told these white lilies were cultivated first in the world by the Dutch-Azerbaijan Friendship Society and Royal Association for Dutch Lily Cultivation in the name of Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.
The first lady of Azerbaijan signed a certificate. A copy of certificate was presented to Mrs. Aliyeva.
The Head of State, first lady and members of their family together with director of the Dutch-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Marjon Van der Vegt posted for photographs.
The President and his spouse toured the park. They visited a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev here.
