The Board of Directors of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG) decided to award the Azerbaijan Museum of Art with the European Museum Standard.
The honorary diploma has been presented to Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Abulfaz Garayev by the president of the EEIG representative office in Azerbaijan Nizami Piriyev, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism told Trend on Friday.
The European Museum Standard is given to the museums meeting the standards and criteria established by the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry situated in Brussels, as well as those meeting the certain concept of the museum, providing high-quality museum services, having professional experience and rendering special consultation services.
The certificate awarded to the Azerbaijani Museum of Art will be delivered to director of the museum, Professor Chingiz Farzaliyev.
The Azerbaijan Museum of Art was established in 1936. At present, it is located in two buildings constructed at the end of 19th century. There are different art exhibits from Azerbaijan, Western Europe, Russia and Eastern countries at this museum.
