Public budget of Azerbaijan (January-July 2011)

The state budget income comprised 6.868.5 billion manat (25.9 percent of GDP) as of January-July 2011 or 19.8 percent more compared to the same period of last year, the government said.

The revenues of the state budget increased by 18.3 percent and hit 6.201.2 billion manat (23.4 percent of GDP). Black ink hit 667.3 million manat or 2.5 percent of GDP in Jan.-July.
About 48.3 percent of revenues (3.319.6 billion manat) obtained from the Ministry of Taxes. Revenues from customs duties and taxes amounted to 643.4 million manat (9.4 percent), from other sources - 2.905.5 billion manat (42.3 percent).
About 1.186.6 billion manat, or 17.3 percent of total income were obtained from VAT, profit tax -1.593.1 billion manat (23.2 percent), income tax - 378.4 million manat (5.5 percent), excise tax - 224.2 million manat (3.3 percent), property tax - 55.2 million manat (0.8 percent), tax on mineral wealth - 72.5 million manat (1.1 percent), land tax - 22.2 million manat (0.3 percent), income tax from foreign trade - 220.3 million manat (3.2 percent).

About 770.5 million manat, or 12.4 percent were spent from the budget on social security and protection of the population of the budget in Jan.-July, on education - 756.6 million manat (12.2 percent), health care - 243.9 million manat (3.9 percent), the prosecution, security, law enforcement and judicial bodies - 347.9 million manat (5.6 percent), culture, art, physical education - 93.8 million manat (1.5 percent), investments in economy - 2.427.5 billion manat (39.2 percent).

About 123.4 million manat (2 percent) of the total investments were spent for the costs for housing and utility, agriculture, forestry and fishing - 201.8 million (3.3 percent), industry, construction - 1.983.1 billion manat (32 percent), transport and communications - 29.6 million manat (0.5 percent).

About 35.4 percent (2.194.1 billion manat) of state expenditures were spent on salaries, pensions and benefits.
The budget revenues for 2011 are forecasted at a level of 15.554.2 billion manat, expenses - 15.941.2 billion manat.
