Public budget of Azerbaijan (January-August 2011)

Azerbaijan's state budget surplus amounted to 200.7 million manat (0.7 percent of GDP) in January-August 2011, or 3.3 times less than the same period of last year.

The actual receipts in the state budget revenues amounted to 7.738.7 billion manat (25.1 percent of GDP), or 15.4 percent more than the same period of last year.

The state budget expenditures increased by 24.7 percent per year. The figure hits 7.538 billion manat (24.4 percent of GDP).

About 47.5 percent (3.679.4 billion manat) in the structure of revenues were provided by the Ministry of Taxes. The tax revenues increased by 32.5 percent per year.
Revenues from customs duties and taxes amounted to 741.7 million manat (with weight of 9.6 percent), from other sources - 3.317.6 billion manat (42.9 percent).

About 1.364.5 billion manat were received from VAT during the reporting period, or 17.6 percent of total income, profit tax - 1.663 billion manat (21.5 percent), income tax - 433.8 million manat (5.6 percent ), excise tax - 291.4 million manat (3.8 percent), property tax - 68.4 million manat (0.9 percent), tax on the bowels - 83.3 million manat (1.1 percent), land tax - 2.4 million manat (0.1 percent), tax on foreign trade - 252.7 million manat (3.3 percent), including import duty - 157.9 million manat (two percent).

About 971.3 million manat (with a weight of 12.9 percent) were spent from the budget for social security and protection of the population in Jan.-Aug., education - 790.9 million manat (10.5 percent), health care - 288.2 manat (3.8 percent), the prosecution's offices, law enforcement and judicial bodies - 400.4 million manat (5.3 percent), culture, art, information sphere and physical education - 107.2 million manat (1.4 percent), investments in the economy - 3.161.2 billion manat (41.9 percent).

About 140.8 million manat (1.9 percent) of the total investments were spent for housing and utility costs, agriculture, forestry and fishery - 280.9 million manat (3.7 percent), industry, construction and minerals - 2.605.2 billion manat (34.6 percent), transport and communications - 33.9 million manat (0.5 percent).
