Date of transition to Euro-4 standard announced in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade signed a decree on the country's transition to the Euro-4 ecological standard beginning April 1, 2014. The Prime Minister's decision was published in the official press.

The Euro-4 ecological standard will be applied from April 1, 2014 to the vehicles imported and manufactured in Azerbaijan to reduce the emission of vehicle pollutants into the atmosphere and improve the environmental situation in the country, according to the decision.

Agro-industrial complex development strategy to be developed in Azerbaijan

The strategy of developing the agro-industrial complex, which will cover the basic principles of agrarian policy, strategic goals and priorities for the development of agriculture, will be worked out in Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Agriculture must prepare and submit the document to the president within three months.

The relevant instruction was reflected in President Aliyev's decree on additional measures in the area of improving the activity of the market of food and agricultural products.

Moreover, the ministry was instructed to submit the proposals for the development of cooperation in agriculture to the president within three months.

The ministry must submit the proposals to improve its structure and create local branches within two months.

The ministry must also take measures to organize the fairs for the sale of agricultural products, held in Baku together with local executive bodies, to create normal conditions for their activity, suitable conditions for the farmers' and the population's trade, to resolve the cases of abuse in this area, and to ensure the organization of fairs in cities and regional centers to expand the opportunities for agricultural producers to appear in the wholesale and retail markets, according to the decree.
