According to the State Statistics Committee, final mass harvesting campaign is continuing in agriculture. According to the State Statistics Committee, as of 1 November 2006, collection of spring and winter harvest including, corns, made up 2078,200 tons from area 783,400h. The
productivity was 26.5 metric tons. Thus, including corns the country produces 2075,700 tons of grains, which is 2% or 42,300 tons more than 2006.

Cotton harvesting comprised 115,100 tons, or 64,400 tons less the harvest fixed in 2005.

The drop was explained with cut in the sown area by 9,700h, or 8.7%, as well as unfavorable weather conditions. The average productivity was 11.2 metric tons per h.

As of 1 November tobacco production in the country has comprised 4,600 tons, or 2,300 tons less than last year. The area sown under tobacco made up 1,800h. The harvesting is continuing. The harvest of tobacco is forecasted to 5,000 tons, tough in 2005 the figure was over 7,000 tons.

Though the collection of tobacco and tea dropped, the harvesting of vegetables and fruits in the opposite dropped. The harvesting of planting comprised 354,600 tons, vegetables - 1132,100 tons, fruits - 488,100 tons, including grapes (77,700 tons with a rise of 3%), potato (935,000 tons). Over 2006 the territory sown under potato comprised 66,700h, or 7,400h more than 2003. The collection of vegetables increased 2.6% as compared to 2005.

Stability was maintained in the sphere cattle-breeding. In this period, live stock made up 224,100 tons, or 2.4% more than the same period of last year, diary 1101,200 tons (+3.8%), wool 13,000 tons (+1.6%). This period the agriculture sector produced 649.4mln eggs, which is less than 2005. Forestry and fishing enterprises of the country produced output for 625,600 manats and 75,300 manats respectively.

Autumn sowing for 2007 has been launched. In this respect the area covering 494,200h has been cultivated for autumn sowing. Autumn grains were sown in the area of 278,300h. Some 271,500 of them falls on barley and wheat.

Thus, as a result of January to October the agriculture product in the current prices comprised 1,565,7m manats, or 3.6% more than 2005. In this period planting production rose 5.4%, while cattle breeding rose 2%.

In October 2006 the production prices of agriculture goods rose 4.2% as compared to the previous month and rose 17.3% - as compared to December 2005. According to the State Statistics Committee, in October the index of planting products made up 106.5% as compared to August. In this period the production prices of vegetables rose 5.6%, grains - 9%.

Besides, index prices of cattle breeding products made up 102.6% as compared to the previous month. Thus, cattle prices went up 5.9%, while for live stock and eggs 3.5%. The prices of forestry products dropped 8.1%, fishery remained stable.
