Armenia's first president, leader of the opposition bloc "Armenian National Congress" Levon Ter-Petrosyan will not run for the upcoming 2013 presidential elections in Armenia, Ter-Petrosyan said in an interview with the "Chorrord Inknishkhanutiun" newspaper, tert.am reported on Tuesday.
According to Ter-Petrosyan, in Armenia everything is in the hands of a group of criminals, who have seized power.
"Therefore, at the moment there is no demand for deliverance from chaos and turning the country into a controlled state, and even if it would be, it would not mean that I would have been the person who can meet this demand," he said .
According to Ter-Petrosyan, three years after his election as Armenian President, he has officially stated that he is ready to quit politics forever, allowing electing the new president through free and fair elections.
