Armenian Parliament’s four fractions stand for changes in the Electoral Code
Four fractions of the Armenian Parliament - "Prosperous Armenia", "Heritage", the Armenian National Congress and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun have similar opinions on issues surrounding changes to the Electoral Code, Armenian Report reported today.
According to the "Heritage" party's bill, it is necessary to publish a list of voters after the elections.
While expressing the point of view of the ruling Armenian Republican Party, Levon Martirosyan said that voters have a right to privacy in regards as to whether they voted or not.
He added that the position is also consistent with that of the Venice Commission.
While expressing the point of view of the Armenian National Congress, Aram Manukyan said that "Secret ballots are one principle, another is secrecy of participation".
Secretary of Prosperous Armenia faction Naira Zohrabyan stated that the party will vote for "Heritage".
"The Venice Commission did not know that emigration will be reduced to nil in our country on election day," he said.
