( Interfax ) - NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer believes that Georgia may become a member of the alliance's airspace control program.

There is nothing unusual in it and other countries too may join this program because it has to do with data exchange, Scheffer told reporters in Signakhi in eastern Georgia on Thursday.

Earlier it was reported that Tbilisi was in talks with the leadership of the alliance about joining NATO's airspace control system.
