Eastern Europe, Central Asia Meeting in Tbilisi to Stir Up Struggle against Corruption

Georgia, Tbilisi, 25 June / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia/ High-ranking officials, NGOs and business groups from 30 countries will be participating in the 7th general meeting of anti-corruption network of Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Georgian presidential administration reported the meeting will take place at Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel in Tbilisi on 25-27 June.

In terms of struggle against corruption, in recent years Georgia has achieved a good progress. The fact that the Conference is held in Tbilisi means efficiency of Georgia's anti-corruption struggle is recognized.

Delegates will discuss the ways to improve anti-corruption struggle.

Law-enforcement bodies' high-ranking officials from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Romania, Switzerland, United States and other countries will discuss the challenges regarding investigation of high-level corruption cases. Moreover, considered will be effective opportunities to prevent a conflict of interests in public administration process.

Politicians, journalists and NGOs from different countries will discuss how to improve citizens' support to anti-corruption reforms.
