The Tbilisi City Court will announce the decision in the case of depriving Bidzina Ivanishvili of his citizenship on Dec. 27. Judge Shota Getsadze said about it after debates on Thursday.
Ivanishvili seeks to annul the act issued by the president to deny him and his wife Ekaterina Khvedelidze Georgian citizenship.
His lawyers made a complaint in court on Oct. 21.
They twice put forward a request for disqualification of a judge, because they believe that Shota Getsadze will make an unfair decision on this case. But both times the request was rejected.
In early October, Ivanishvili announced his plans to engage in political activity and to create a strong opposition for changing the current Georgian administration. A few days later, on October 11, President Saakashvili signed the decree depriving him and his wife of Georgian citizenship.
