Georgia has opted out of an agreement relating to the background of the general development rules of the industrial cooperatives and enterprises of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The decree was signed by Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. Official Tbilisi will notify the depositary about the decision.
Georgia withdrew from the CIS in August 2008 after the August military conflict. However, a number of agreements within the CIS in Georgia are still working on a temporary basis as a result of decisions made by the Georgian President.
Military action was launched in Georgia, South Ossetia on Aug.8 in 2008. Later Russian troops occupied the city of Tskhinvali and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognised the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow and announced two unrecognised republics as occupied territories.
