Georgian President opens new boulevard in Ureki

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili inspected a new boulevard at the Black Sea resort of Ureki on Wednesday. He also spoke with local residents and tourists.

The president briefed them on the various projects planned to be implemented in Ureki. Construction and rehabilitation works have been completed at the 800-metre stretch of seafront of Ureki.

Planting of greenery took place in the boulevard. The pedestrian area is paved with decorative tiles, a bicycle track to international standards laid, modern street lighting installed and the main entrance to the boulevard fully renovated. The renovation work employed 200 people, most of them locals.

The work is coordinated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. Rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage is planned in the future.
