If the presidential elections had been held today, Vakhtang Khmaladze would be nominated for the post of the Georgian President, Georgian Dream opposition coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili who won the parliamentary elections said at a press briefing today.
He said that the presidential elections will be held only in 2013 and he can change his mind before this period.
It should be stressed that after winning the parliamentary elections, Ivanishvili requested incumbent president Mikheil Saakashvili to resign. However, after a sharp rebuke from Western leaders, he retracted this statement.
The presidential elections must be held by July 2013.
