On Tuesday, October 16, the state delegation of Georgia will leave for Brussels,where they will take part in the meeting of EU Georgia Cooperation Committee, planned for October 19.

On Tuesday, October 16, the state delegation of Georgia will leave for Brussels,where they will take part in the meeting of EU Georgia Cooperation Committee, planned for October 19.

Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Internal Affairs as well as representative of State Ministry Staff for Reintegration are members of the state delegation.

Members of Georgian Dream, the candidate for Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaniani among them, are also included to the delegation.

A number of issues, including situation in Georgia, reforms carried out in the country, relations with Russia, conflicts in the country as well as simplification of visa regime and broadening of trade cooperation will be discussed within the visit.

David Zalkaniani has stated that Georgian Dream will take efforts not to slow down Georgia's integration to European Union through the transition process. Within Georgian delegation he will take part in the meeting of Georgia EU Cooperation Committee, planned for October 19.

According to Zalkaniani, his visit to Brussels is aimed to receive complete information on the negotiations between Georgia and EU.

Parliamentary elections with participation of 14 parties and 2 political blocks took place in Georgia on October 1. The elections were held by mixed list majority system.

According to CEC's complete preliminary data, Georgian Dream coalition will have 83 deputy mandates, while United National Movement - 67.

The leader of election winning Georgian Dream Bidzina Ivanishvili has previously presented the candidates for ministers for approval in new government.

Ivanishvili himself is going to take the post of prime minister.

The parliament will have more power, while the president's powers will be reduced following entry into force of constitution amendments in 2013.
