The vast majority of ministers in the Georgian current government were living only on salary. They had to take bank loans. So, they owe debts to the banks, Acting Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili told the Rustavi-2"TV company today.

He was elected Secretary General of the United National Movement which defeated in the parliamentary elections.

"These people have been taking loans for many years," Merabishvili said. "After the government resigned, they have no new jobs, but I am sure that they will find something within a year."

Merabishvili said that it is a time when the ministers go without taking anything from the state budget.

"This testifies to the fact that we reserve more than two million lari in the state budget for the future government," he said. "This has never happened before as there was always an empty treasury and big debts after the previous government."

Merabishvili thanked the ministers because they have selflessly served the country.
Parliamentary elections with the participation of 14 parties and two political blocks took place in Georgia on October 1. The elections were held by a mixed list majority system.

According to the CEC's complete preliminary data, the Georgian Dream coalition got 85 deputy mandates, while United National Movement got 65.

The leader of the Georgian Dream coalition which won the parliamentary elections Ivanishvili, has introduced new candidates for ministerial posts in the new Georgian government.
Ivanishvili will take the post of prime minister.
