A new NATO liaison officer has been appointed to Georgia. Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia William Lahue has today introduced new officer Maximilian Eder to the public.
The ceremony was attended by acting chief of the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Vakhtang Kapanadze and military representatives of the diplomatic corp.
According to William Lahue, they met with senior officials of the Defence Ministry and the current head of the Joint Staff.
"The tenure of a permanent military representative in Georgia demonstrates NATO's support towards Georgia. This contributes to the deepening of our bilateral relations. Through this, NATO reiterates its confidence in the new Georgian government due to the fact it will continue achievements of the previous administration," Lahue said.
