Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili called on President Mikheil Saakashvili to express his clear position on constitutional amendments.
"Within the next two or three days, you should clearly and unequivocally state whether or not you support a ban on the change of government without the consent of parliament," Ivanishvili said.
In his message, the prime minister stressed that "the issue of power in the country has been settled".
"Constitutional amendments initiated by us will be put to the vote in Parliament by the end of March. This voting will really mark a watershed. You may consider my words either as an ultimatum or political generosity, but I unequivocally declare that those who agree with these amendments, continue serving the country and are given a chance to correct political mistakes and work for a better political future. Those who deny these amendments, take full responsibility for everything undertaken by any of your colleagues within the last nine years and continue to live with this burden," Ivanishvili said.
