Georgian FM to meet with UN Secretary General

Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Pandzhikidze is on a visit to the U.S.

Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend that Pandzhikidze will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and High Commissioner for Human Rights in New York on June 5.

The future prospects of the relations between Georgia and the United Nations and the organization's role in the conflict settlement between Georgia and Russia will be the main topic of the meeting.

Pandzhikidze will discuss the situation around the occupied territories, including the process of installing a wire fence along the separatist regions with UN High Representatives.

Up to 30 meetings with representatives of UN member-states will be held within the meeting.
