Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia Khatuna Gogaladze is going to participate in the 11th forum 'Questions of leaders: business and politics as a force to promote inclusion and sustainable development' organized by the World Bank.

The forum is being held in Berlin on June 20.

It is expected to bring together more than 100 leaders, including German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel, representatives of academia, private sector and civil society. A press conference of Angela Merkel and Dirk Niebel is also scheduled at the forum.

Katuna Gogaladze is one of the speakers and a co-host of the plenary session. Her meeting with high-level representatives of the Federal Ministry of Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety is scheduled for June 21.

The main theme of the forum is the role of government in the development of business and the economy, protection of natural resources, reducing emissions of heat gas and overcoming poverty. Among other issues, the forum participants attach importance to the political processes ongoing in Georgia, the processes of development of 'green' business strategies, improving the efficiency and competitiveness of production.

In the next 30 years the world's population is expected to increase from 7 billion to 9 billion people, which can cause a deficiency of agricultural products, energy and natural resources. Climate changes pose a threat to the achievements of economic development. In order to overcome existing problems, joint efforts of leaders of countries are required.
