Georgia and Moldova are supported by the EU in conducting reforms on integration with the EU, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule said at a video conference with Georgian and Moldovan journalists today.
"If Georgia remains committed to the values that are important for the EU, establishes the rule of law, does not allow selective justice and has free media, then it will be closer to the EU," he said. "The more Georgia closer to the EU, the better we can protect it."
Fule expressed confidence that after the initialling of an association agreement, this document will be signed in a year.
Georgia intends to initial an association agreement with the EU at the EU summit on the Eastern Partnership on November 28-29.
