The process of laying a 25 - kilometer section of the Rustavi Sagarejo main gas pipeline started in Georgia.
Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure David Narmania examined the operations on March 7.
Komfortmshen 21 company won the tender. It is involved in the operations.
Kakheti region (Eastern Georgia) will be fully provided with gas after a 300 millimeter pipeline is laid.
The cost of the project implementation is 5,194,207 lari. The operations must be completed in September 2014.
"This project is very important for Kakheti region," Kaladze added.
"This is a very important project because it will be possible to provide the region with gas especially in winter," he said. "All operations will be completed in September."
The official exchange rate is 1 lari/0.58$ on March 8.
