Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze continues to hold bilateral meetings as part of the 69th regular session of the UN General Assembly.

She has met with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and discussed the bilateral relations, Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend.

They focused on the intensification of trade and economic relations between Georgia and Turkmenistan.

She expressed gratitude to her counterparts for supporting Georgia's resolution about the IDPs and refugees.

Moreover, Georgian foreign minister met with the counterparts from Andorra and Montenegro.

During the meetings, Panjikidze emphasized the importance of the bilateral meetings in the UN.

"As always, being in New York, we have an opportunity to meet with the representatives of the countries with whom we have no opportunity to meet under other circumstances. Mainly, I mean the countries of Asia, Africa, the Central and Latin America," Panjikidze said.

"The main topic of discussions during the bilateral meetings is the policy of non-recognition and support for the resolution. After the yesterday's meetings, I'm very optimistic and I believe that the resolution will have greater success in the UN next year than last year and we will maintain the positive dynamics," Georgian foreign minister said.
