The decline in the world oil prices has not effected gasoline prices in Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a governmental meeting Dec. 18

He was talking about gasoline prices remaing high in the country.

"I have charged the Competition Agency with clarifying the situation," he said. "It is necessary to find out why global trends have no effect on Georgia and gasoline price is not reduced."

He said that the agency has 10 days to deal with the situation and provide the government with a response.

One liter of gasoline in Georgia is in the range of 1.98 to 2.18 lari ($ 1 = 1.91 lari) depending on the quality.
