Georgia's TOP-5 imported goods in 9M2021

Georgia's imports over first 9 months of 2021 amounted to $7 billion, which is an increase of 21.6 percent, compared to $5.7 billion in the reporting period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia from January through September 2021 amounted to 67.2 percent. The top partners were Turkey ($1.2 billion), Russia ($718.8 million) and China ($599.9 million).

TOP-5 commodities in total imports (January through September 2021):

Vehicles – 9 percent of total imports, or $632.5 million (increase of 5 percent, compared to $601.5 million over the same period of 2020);

Petroleum and petroleum oils – 8.2 percent of total imports, or $576.3 million (increase of 57.2 percent, compared to $366.6 million over the same period of 2020);

Copper ores and concentrates – 7.5 percent of total imports, or $530.1 million (increase of 24 percent, compared to $427.5 million over the same period of 2020);

Medicine – 3.7 percent of total imports, or $257.2 million (increase of 11.8 percent, compared to $230.2 million over the same period of 2020);

Petroleum gases – 3 percent of total imports, or $207.3 million (decrease of 3.9 percent, compared to $215.8 million over the same period of 2020).
