Georgia’s commercial banks liabilities down

The liabilities of Georgia’s commercial banks in November 2021 totaled 51.9 billion Georgian lari ($16.8 billion), Trend reports via statistical data of National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The current index slightly decreased by 0.5 percent, compared to $52.2 billion Georgian lari ($16.9 billion) in October 2021, the report said.

However, the liabilities of Georgian commercial banks in the reporting period of 2021 increased by 3.5 percent, compared to 50.1 billion Georgian lari ($16.2 billion) in November 2020.

Meanwhile, the demand deposits of commercial banks of Georgia in November 2021 amounted to 20.4 billion Georgian lari ($6.62 billion), which is a decrease of 0.9 percent, compared to 20.6 billion Georgian lari ($6.68 billion) over the previous month of 2021.

The same figure, however, increased by 17.2 percent, compared to 17.4 billion Georgian lari ($5.6 billion) in November 2020.

The term deposits of the Georgia’s commercial banks in the reporting period of 2021 totaled 15.3 billion Georgian lari ($4.9 billion), which is a decrease of 2.5 percent, compared to 15.7 billion Georgian lari ($5 billion) in October 2021, and a decrease of 4.9 percent, compared to 16.1 billion Georgian lari ($5.2 billion) November 2020.
