The volume of money transfers from Azerbaijan to Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to $85.1 million – an increase of 58.1 percent, compared to $53.8 million in 2020, Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The money inflow to Georgia from Azerbaijan in December 2021 alone amounted to $6.7 million, which is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month of 2020 ($5.7 million).
However, the current figure decreased by 5.6 percent, compared to $7.1 million in November 2021, the report said.
Thus, Azerbaijan ranks 10 among the main countries with the largest amount of transferred money in Georgia in December 2021.
The total volume of remittances inflow to Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to $2.3 billion, compared to $2.1 billion over 2020.
