Volume of money transfers from Kazakhstan to Georgia revealed

The volume of remittances inflow to Georgia from Kazakhstan in January 2022 amounted to $6.6 million, which is an increase of 200 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($2.2 million), Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The same figure also increased by 247.3 percent, compared to January 2020, when the volume of money transfers from Kazakhstan to Georgia totaled $1.9 million.

However, the volume of remittances inflow to Georgia from Kazakhstan in January 2022 decreased by 50.3 percent, compared to December 2021 ($13.3 million).

Thus, Kazakhstan ranked 7 among main countries of origin for money transfers to Georgia in January 2022. Italy ranked first on the list with $33.3 million, followed by Russia ($22.3 million), and the US ($20.3 million).

Meanwhile, the total volume of remittances inflow to Georgia in January 2022 amounted to $168.8 million, which is an increase of 12.7 percent, compared to $149.7 million over the same month of 2021. The same figure also increased by 34.3 percent, compared to January 2020 ($125.6 million).
