The Land Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia is actively negotiating with the EU countries on increasing the shipping quotas for Georgian companies, Levan Gamkrelidze, Director of the Agency said, Trend reports via Georgian media.
The issue was discussed at the meeting between the Agency and the representatives of the companies operating in the international land transport sector organized by the Georgian International Road Carriers Association.
According to Gamkrelidze, the transport corridor connecting Europe and Asia passes through Georgia. Thus, it is important for the companies operating in the land transport sector to be able to enter the EU market.
The sides also noted the effective and businesslike communication between the Agency's administration and the private sector working in the field of international road transport.
