BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. The volume of money transfers from Azerbaijan to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to $4.75 million, which is a decrease of 34.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($7.3 million), Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
However, the same figure increased by 106.5 percent, compared to March 2020 ($2.3 million), but slightly decreased by 0.8 percent, compared to February 2022 ($4.79 million).
Thus, Azerbaijan ranks 9 among the main countries with the largest amount of transferred money in Georgia in March 2022.
The total volume of money transfers from Azerbaijan to Georgia from January through March 2022 totaled $13.8 million, the report said.
Meanwhile, the total volume of remittances inflow to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to $193 million, which is an increase of 2.6 percent, compared to $188.1 million over the same month of 2021, and 53.4 percent, compared to March 2020 ($125.8 million).
