Georgian Railway States on Increase of Deliveries over 6 Months

The Observation Board of Georgian Railway company has summarized its activities over the first 6 months of 2006.TrendSpecial Correspondent has been told at the company that in this period the deliveries by rail increased considerably.

Over the first six months the Georgian Railway has transported 11.15 million tons of cargo, which is 2,841 million tons more than 2005.

A tendency of growth has been maintained in July and August. As to passenger transportation, in this they have amounted to 1.6 million men.

This year the company has carried out several important projects, including the rehabilitation of the Tbilisi-Baku-Moscow route. New stations of the station opened in Makhinjauri and Kobuleti. Increase of cargo and passenger transportation respectively raises incomes of the railway. In this respect the observation Board considered the changes in the business-plan.
