Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in an interview with The Washington Post that he expects an early favorable response from the Trump administration to Turkey’s request for the extradition of Fethullah Gulen.

The Istanbul Court earlier released an order to arrest Fethullah Gulen, who is accused of organizing the July 15 coup attempt in Turkey.

Ankara sent four documents to the US proving Gulen’s complicity in the military coup attempt and demanded his extradition.

“We need to rebuild mutual trust,” Cavusoglu said, noting that “anti-Americanism is on the rise in Turkey.”

The Turkish presidential administration earlier told Trend that Ankara will do everything possible to extradite Gulen from the US.
