BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. French President Emmanuel Macron's rating has seen a record drop, Trend reports.

Data from the Elabe sociological service indicates that only 24 percent of French respondents currently trust their leader "to effectively solve the country's problems."

Macron's popularity has taken a hit, as his approval rating among respondents has dropped by three percent.

His rating has hit rock bottom, reaching its lowest point since the beginning of his second term as president in 2022.

This is also the second lowest rating since his election in 2017 (23 percent in December 2018).

Meanwhile, 29 percent of respondents approve of Gabriel Attal's performance as Prime Minister, which is four percent lower than last month.

To note, on June 9, Macron dissolved the National Assembly and scheduled an early parliamentary election.

"I am calling for early parliamentary elections. The first round will be held on June 30, with the second round on July 7", he said, addressing the people of France.

In a stunning blow, Macron had to face the harsh reality of his party's crushing defeat in the European Parliament election. With a meager 15.4 percent of the vote, his party was left in the dust by the formidable right-wing National Rally Party, which secured a whopping 32 percent of the vote.

Later, foreign media spread information that the French president may resign if the right-wing wins the parliamentary election. However, the French President's administration denied these statements.
