Hamas official Omar Adbel-Razeq denied holding a meeting with the Israeli governent last Tuesday in the Israeli city of Netanya, rejecting a report Saturday in the London-based Arab newspaper Ashraq al-Awasat dpa reported

"This is totally false information and lacks basis. We are not allowed to enter the 1948 territory," Abdel-Razeq said Saturday in response to the newspaper report.

Asraq al-Awasat reported Saturday that Abdel-Razeq travelled last Tuesday from the Palestinian city of Nablus to the Israeli town of Netanya for meeting with Israeli officials.

Quoting Palestinian sources, the newspaper reported that the two sides discussed the issue of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. Israeli also warned Hamas against kidnapping Israeli settlers that could be used in a exchange of prisoners with Israel.
