Separate attacks across troubled Iraq have claimed the lives of four people and injured 18 others, a report has pointed out.

On Sunday, an explosive-laden vehicle was blown to pieces south of the northern city of Mosul, killing two people, including an Iraqi soldier, and injuring three others, AFP reported.

Armed assailants attacked a checkpoint in an area west of the western city of Fallujah, killing one law enforcement agent and wounding four others.

Attackers also bombed the residence of a local prosecutor in the city of Balad, north of Baghdad. The incident killed one woman and injured eight others, including three women and a child.

Bombs went off in Baquba, the capital of the eastern Diyala province, inflicting wounds on three people.

Iraq grapples with violence despite the presence of thousands of United States troopers on the country's soil, PressTV reported.
