Two people, including a suicide attacker, died Wednesday, while 11 more were injured in an attack in northern Yemen, said a security official, dpa reported.
The attacker, on a motorbike, blew himself up in a marketplace in Sa'ada, the province's security chief, Brigadier Abdel-Hakim al-Mawari, told the government-run website September 26.
The motive for the attack was not known, he said.
The Yemeni government has, in the past, blamed al-Qaeda for similar attacks.
In mid-2012, the Yemeni army launched a campaign against militants with suspected links to al-Qaeda.
