A rescue helicopter crashed in Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), killing all of the four people on board, including the pilot, Trend reported citing Press TV.

The incident happened at 5:50pm local time on Saturday after the helicopter, which was on a mission to airlift an injured man from Jebel Jais, hit a zipline cable on the UAE's tallest mountain. The helicopter crashed before reaching the man.

"An Agusta 139 helicopter in a rescue mission crashed in Jabal Jis area in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah", UAE’s news agency WAM quoted the country's civil aviation authority as saying.

The agency also added that Ras Al Khaimah’s governor ordered an immediate investigation into the crash of helicopter, which was operated by the National Search and Rescue Center.

A video circulated on social media showed the helicopter spinning before it crashed into the mountain.

The dead included three Emirati crew members and a foreign medic.

The ‘Jebel Jais Flight’ zipline is the world’s longest zipline in Ras Al Khaimah.
