Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered on Tuesday the closure of the crossings along the Gaza Strip due to the recent rocket attacks.

Barak also ordered to halt the 90 trucks of humanitarian supply planned for later Tuesday, the spokesman of the Defense Ministry Peter Lerner told Xinhua.

The closure came just one day after Israel opened cargo crossings into the Gaza Strip to allow food and fuel supplies in.

The reopening of the crossings will be depended on Israeli security authorities' evaluation of the situation of the Strip, the spokesman added.

Earlier, Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired four Qassam rockets and a mortal shell at the western Negev of Israel.

The rockets exploded in open fields in the Eshkol Regional Council, while the shell struck the nearby area of Sdot Negev, causing no injuries or damage.

The Islamic Jihad's military wing, the al-Quds Brigades, claimed responsibility for launching the rockets.

Meanwhile, Hamas' leadership on Monday adopted a united stance not to extend the truce with Israel, which is set to expire on Friday.
