( dpa ) - A night-long family drama ended Thursday morning in tragedy in southern California with the death of five people, including a police officer, radio KCBS reported.
The killings occurred in a Los Angeles suburb, where a man barricaded himself in a house and told police he had killed three family members.
Police surrounded the house for hours, then stormed inside with tear gas. The police officer was killed during the action, as was the man who had barricaded himself.
