( dpa ) - Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek discussed Sunday with Jordan's King Abdullah II the latest developments in the Middle East and means of boosting bilateral cooperation, according to an official statement.
"The monarch stressed the participation of the world community, particularly the European Union, in ongoing efforts aimed at finding a just and durable solution for the Palestinian question that leads to the creation of an independent Palestinians state," the statement from the royal court said.
Topolanek and Abdullah expressed their backing for the private sectors in the two countries to become involved in joint investment ventures particularly in the tourism, energy and water spheres.
The Czech premier, who arrived in Amman Saturday for a two-day official visit, also held similar talks with his Jordanian counterpart Nader Dabahi.
