Ray Winstone says Harrison Ford is a "cowboy". ( FF )
The London-born actor - who stars alongside Harrison in 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' - dismissed reports the 65-year-old star is too old for the action-packed role.
He said: " Harrison is a boy! He was an absolute ball. He can hit that dot on the door, about 20ft away, with his whip. He can drive the car like a stuntman and he can act. He's basically a cowboy!"
Ray - who plays Indiana's best friend Mac in the franchise's fourth film - also revealed he only agreed to appear in the movie when director Steven Spielberg promised he would have a big part.
He added: "I wouldn't have done this film for a bit part. I said to Spielberg, 'I don't want to just be along for the ride. I want to bring something to it.' I'm too old in the tooth to just show my face.
"I'm never going to be a big Hollywood star, but if I'm going to be in an 'Indiana Jones' movie, I want to be a big part of the story. Also, I wanted to do a film that my six-year-old can watch!"
