Afghanistan's extremist Taliban movement said it had attacked Sunday a military parade in Kabul where rocket and gunfire erupted after President Hamid Karzai had inspected troops.
"We fired rockets at the scene of the celebration," a spokesman for the insurgent group, Zabihullah Mujahed, told an AFP reporter.
Explosions and gunfire sent the thousands of troops and dignitaries, who included President Hamid Karzai, scattering, an AFP reporter said.
