The U.S.-led coalition says its troops have killed four militants, including an al-Qaida commander, in central Afghanistan, ap reported.
The coalition says in a statement that two other militants were detained during the Friday operation in Ghazni province.
The force did not identify the al-Qaida commander. It says those killed and detained were involved in attacks Afghan and foreign troops.
More than 4,700 people ї mostly militants ї have died in insurgency-related violence so far this year, according to an Associated Press count of figures provided by Afghan and Western officials.
