Belarus-Russia Union State PA to hold 4 sessions in 2009

The Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus-Russia Union State will hold four sessions in 2009, the PA press service told BelTA.

The first session will take place in Belarus in February. Belarus will also host the second one in June. In October the Union State parliamentarians will meet in Russia. The final session will be held in Belarus in December.

The PA programme will include a wide range of different events. Apart from regular sessions of the permanent commissions, the agenda provides holding a festival Youth For The Union State, a scientific conference "Information Comprehensive Protection", an agitation bike ride "The Youth of Russia and Belarus is a Road into the Union State Future", numerous roundtables highlighting the place and role of the Union State in the system of the international relations and unification of the legislations of Russia and Belarus in various legal fields.

The PA permanent seminar will continue its activity and focus on the issues of the information policy, cooperation in the economic and social areas, mitigation of the Chernobyl consequences. The PA seminar will hold its sessions in Smolensk, Bryansk, Gomel, Krasnodar Krai, the Belgorod oblast and one of the Belarusian agrotowns.
