There is no doubt that Turkey's efforts in indirect peaceful talks of Syria and Israel are successful, the President of Syria Bashar Al-Asad said on May 11, Turkish journal The Journal of Turkish Weekly reported.

Addressing at the joint press-conference with the President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, Asad said that Syria will sign peace agreement with Israel if Golan Highlands occupied by Israel in 1967 are returned.

Asad said that stability and peace in the Middle East also depend on solving of Israel-Palestinian conflict. He added that Turkey's position in the war of the Gaza strip was right and effective for Palestinian people.

The fourth indirect round of dialogue between Syria and Israel with mediation of Ankara was ceased because of military attacks of Israel on the Gaza strip in late December to cease missile fires of HAMAS movement on Israel.

Israel calls Syria for ceasing relations with Tehran, support of Lebanon party Hezbollah and Palestinian movement HAMAS. But Damascus said that Israel must return Syrian territories.
