The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) Wednesday said three Jordanian peacekeepers were killed in the strong earthquake which hit Haiti on Tuesday, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) Wednesday said three Jordanian peacekeepers were killed in the strong earthquake which hit Haiti on Tuesday, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
  
The JAF said 21 other Jordanian peacekeepers were "slightly" injured in the 7.0-magnitude quake, which struck at 4:53 p.m. local time (2153 GMT) on Tuesday and was followed by a tsunami and at least 13 aftershocks, Xinhua reported.
  
The earthquake, the strongest in Haiti in 200 years according to the U.S. Geological Survey, toppled many buildings, including the UN headquarters in the Caribbean country. The casualties were unclear till now.
  
Currently, there are more than 2,000 Jordanian peacekeepers stationed across the world.
  
The Arab kingdom has sent over 61,000 peacekeepers since it took part in the first mission with the UN Peacekeeping Forces in 1989.
